Ravi Kumar, a resident of Sector-15, Chandigarh, was duped of Rs 70 lakhs in the name of stock trading, investment in the share market and getting a job.
The victim after not getting any job or his money back, he complained to the police station. He said that on February 3, he saw a video on Instagram about earning money from stock trading. Through a link on WhatsApp, he was added to the Beed Acrecore Investment, Strategy Group, which had 136 members. who used to give information about trading every day.
The company employee asked to install the trading app. After downloading the app, an account was created which was linked to the bank account. Ravi invested 20 thousand in the beginning which brought him some profit. After this, by giving the false hope of huge profits, he was cheated into investing Rs 25 lakh 32 thousand 400. After this, it was found out that it was a fake trading app and he had been duped.
Fraud of 54.80 lakhs in the name of investment
In the second case, Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Sector-38, was duped of Rs 54.80 lakhs in the name of investment in the stock market. In a complaint to the police, Dinesh said that on March 7, 2023, Anjan Kapoor, Avinash Agarwal contacted him for investment through a WhatsApp group named Goldman Sacks Watch Corp.
