Woman burnt alive for giving birth to daughter, Husband arrested search for in laws on

The police have registered a case against husband Gurpreet Singh, mother-in-law Manjit Kaur and father-in-law Amarjit Singh on the complaint of the victim's elder sister Sumanpreet Kaur.

Ludhiana: In Ludhiana, the in-laws burnt the daughter-in-law alive after she gave birth to a daughter. She has been admitted to Dayanand Medical College in critical condition. The police have arrested the accused husband in this case. The search for the mother-in-law and father-in-law is on.

The incident took place two days ago in village Savaddi Kala of police station Sindhwa Bet. The victim Sukhjit Kaur is currently battling for life in Dayanand Medical College (DMC). The police have registered a case against husband Gurpreet Singh, mother-in-law Manjit Kaur and father-in-law Amarjit Singh on the complaint of the victim’s elder sister Sumanpreet Kaur.

According to Sumanpreet, her sister was married to tempo driver Gurpreet Singh 9 years ago. A year after marriage, Sukhjit gave birth to daughter Gurnoor, who is now 8 years old. Two days ago, Sumanpreet received a call from Pandori Nursing Home in Mullapur that her sister has been left in a burnt condition.

In charge of Chowki Bhudari and investigating officer ASI Daljit Singh said that the victim herself is not in a position to give a statement. The accused husband Gurpreet Singh has been arrested. At present, the police are investigating the case.
