Women Commission Punjab condemns the act of misbehaviour with dancer girl artist, legal action will be taken

Chandigarh: The Women Commission Punjab is committed to its responsibility of empowering and supporting women rights in the state of Punjab. The commission has been taking strict actions against all offensive activities against women.

On 1st April 2024, a dancer-girl artist Simar Sandhu got engaged in an argument with some people at a wedding where she was performing on stage. Those people were reportedly drunk and were asking her to dance off the stage near them and were abusing her. To this, she also lost her calm and started abusing them.

After the police registered a case in the matter of viral video of the dancer girl in Samrala, the Punjab State Women Commission has taken action. On behalf of the Punjab Women Commission, the Khanna SSP Amneet Kondal has been ordered to get the case registered. Along with this, the Commission has also sought a status report regarding this within a week. The Commission will take further action on the above.

While taking action on this matter, Samrala police was continuously raiding for the arrest of accused. The Samrala police have succeeded in arresting the employee Jagroop Singh after the raid. SHO Samrala said that policeman Jagrup Singh, who is currently posted on duty in Ludhiana, has been arrested but his two accomplices are still not arrested, they are being raided for their arrest.

The Chairperson of Women Commission Punjab interacted with media regarding the issue of Misbehaviour with dancer girl artist. She condemned the shameful act done by those people, chairperson Raj Lali Gill shared her thoughts regarding the issue with media

Women Commission Punjab chairperson Raj Lalli Gill said that it was absolutely wrong to make derogatory comments about a woman who is dancing as it is her profession. Besides, she assured that strict action would be taken against the accused in the case.

She said that dance is an art and she is an artist so it is her field of work that every person should respect about
