A yellow alert has been issued once again regarding rain in Punjab today. After the rain yesterday, the maximum temperature of the state has seen a decreased of 1.4 degrees. After today, the situation in the state will return to normal for the next three days. However, from July 21, a new round of rain is expected to occur in the state again.
According to the data released by the Meteorological Center, today the temperature of the state has been recorded 2.7 degrees below normal. The highest temperature in the state has been recorded at 34.5 degrees in Pathankot. While the temperature in Amritsar was 31.2 degrees, Ludhiana 32 degrees, Patiala 31 degrees, Bathinda 32.9 degrees and Gurdaspur 34 degrees.
At the same time, till 5.30 pm last evening, 7 mm of rain was recorded in Pathankot, 3.5 mm in Fazilka and Ferozepur, 1 mm in Bathinda, 0.8 mm in Ludhiana. While rain was also seen in Amritsar and surrounding areas in the evening.
The monsoon in the state is looking a little weak in July as compared to June. If we talk about June 1 to July 16, 13 percent more rain has been recorded in the state. That is, 150.7 mm of rain has occurred in the state, whereas normally 133.9 mm of rain is recorded.
If we talk about July 1 to 16, then only 2 percent more clouds have rained in the state than normal. Normally, 79.4 mm of rain occurs in the state and till now only 81 mm of rain has occurred. It is estimated that more rain can be seen on average in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Center, the phase of rains is going to start again in the state from July 21. A yellow alert has been issued in the state for the next few days from July 21. While the weather will be normal in the state for 3 days from July 18 to 20.
