Amritsar: The notice period given by Punjab Police to social media influencer Archana Makwana, who does yoga at the Golden Temple, is ending today.
According to the notice sent to Archana, she will have to reach the E-Division police station in Amritsar today and answer. On the other hand, Archana has announced that if the SGPC does not withdraw the complaint, then she is ready to fight legaly.
Archana Makwana was sent a notice by Amritsar Police a week ago on June 26. In which she has to present her side by appearing before the Amritsar Police today on Sunday 30 June.
It remains to be seen whether Archana responds to this notice or asks for more time from the police. However, Archana had again posted her pictures on social media yesterday. In which she wrote that Waheguru ji you know the truth, please do justice.’
Archana will respond to SGPC’s complaint
Archana had said in her video- On June 21, when I was doing Shirshasana in Golden Temple, thousands of Sikhs were present there. The person who took the photo was also a Sardar Ji. He was taking photos even before me. The sevadaars who were standing there did not stop me.
When I was taking the photo, the faith of all the Sikhs standing live was not hurt. So I did not feel that I did anything wrong. But someone across the seven seas felt that I did wrong. Made my photo viral in a negative way. On that, SGPC office got a baseless FIR registered against me. After which it will get worse, otherwise my intention was not bad.
What was the need to file this useless FIR against me? What about the mental torture I went through? There is still time, take back the FIR, otherwise I and my legal team are ready to fight.

Actually, Archana Makwana posted pictures of herself doing yoga in the parikrama of the Golden Temple on social media on Yoga Day (21 May). Archana Makwana posted 2 pictures on social media. In these, she is seen doing meditation and Shirshasana. She did these yogasanas in the parikrama of the Golden Temple.
After which these pictures went viral on social media and an FIR was registered against her by the SGPC. In the FIR, Golden Temple’s General Manager Bhagwant Singh has written that on 22 June 2024, we were present on our duty when a video went viral on YouTube and Instagram.
In this, Archana Makwana took an objectionable photo near the place of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji in the parikrama of Sri Darbar Sahib and is deliberately making it viral. This has hurt Sikh sentiments.
