Punjabi Singer Abducted at Gunpoint from Ludhiana Found Dead in Canal; Forced Marriage Angle Suspected

Punjabi singer Inder Kaur alias Yashinder Kaur (29) was murdered in Ludhiana. His body was found in the Nilo canal at 11 am today. Inder was kidnapped at gunpoint 6 days ago, after which the family was constantly searching for him.

The family said that the man, a resident of Moga, was pressuring him to marry forcibly. When he refused, he was kidnapped. After committing the murder, he fled to Canada. He had come to Punjab from Canada via Nepal to commit murder, then ran back through this route.

Three years ago, the two became friends on Instagram, but as soon as Inder came to know that the accused was married and had children, he refused to get married, due to which the accused started holding grudges.

At present, the police have taken the body of the deceased out of the canal and sent it to the civil hospital in Samrala for postmortem. Inder’s parents and two brothers live in Korea. While one of his brothers lives in Jamalpur, Ludhiana.

I had gone to the market to get the ration and water of the house

The singer’s brother Jotinder Singh said that Inder Kaur had left the market in her white Ford Figo car at around 6.30 pm on May 13 to get groceries from the market, but she did not return home. When the girl did not return, the family members started looking for her at their own level.

During the investigation, they came to know that Yashinder was friends with a person named Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukhha, who is originally from Moga but now lives in Canada with his family. On the night of May 13, Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, his father Pritam Singh, his friend Karamjit Singh and some other unidentified accomplices kidnapped Yashinder Kaur at gunpoint with the intention of killing her.

The accused came to Punjab from Canada via Nepal.

The brother said that Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha was pressuring Yashinder Kaur to forcibly marry him and Sukha’s father Pritam Singh was also supporting him in this work. On the other hand, Yashinder had come to know that Sukhwinder was already married and had children, so she was flatly refusing to get married.

He said that he was kidnapped to take revenge for this. The accused had come to Punjab from Canada via Nepal. From Moga, he hired two taxis. Coming here, he kidnapped his sister at gunpoint. After this, the accused Sukhwinder Singh killed his sister on the banks of the canal and after that again fled to Canada via Nepal.

Became friends on Instagram 3 years ago

Five years ago, Inder Kaur quit singing and was now working as a boutique and make-up artist. Three years ago, Sukhwinder Singh met on Instagram and after that the two became friends. Everyone knew it at home, too. The brother said that when he came to know that he was already married, he refused to marry. In this anger, he committed murder.

The police are investigating the matter.
