Florida truck crash: Truck driver’s brother Harneet Singh arrested, to be deported

Amritsar, August 23: On August 12, a Punjabi truck driver in the US took a wrong U-turn in Florida, due to which a mini car collided with it. Three people died in the accident. In this case, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has now arrested 25-year-old Harneet Singh, who is the brother of Harjinder Singh. He will be deported to India.

It is not yet known which district of Punjab the two accused belong to. Harjinder Singh is the same truck driver whose wrong U-turn caused this accident. Harneet Singh was sitting inside the truck at the time of the incident.

Illegal U-turn taken from “official use only” access point

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, on August 12, Harjinder Singh tried to make an illegal U-turn from an “official use only” access point in St. Lucie County. During this, he blocked all the lanes of the highway with his truck, causing a terrible accident. In this accident, three innocent people died on the spot.

Harneet was seen in the video with accused brother Harjinder

ICE recently arrested Harneet Singh. According to the administration, Harneet was also living illegally in the US like his brother. The Department of Homeland Security said that Harneet Singh was caught by the Border Patrol in 2023, but he was released into American communities by the Biden administration. Now Harneet Singh will be kept in custody till the deportation process.

Harjinder had fled to California after the accident

After the accident, Harjinder Singh fled to California. However, he was brought back to Florida. Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins said on social media that he thought he might run away. But he was arrested. Harjinder Singh had also failed the driving license test and was driving the truck illegally.
