Punjab’s Shahi Imam Maulana Usman Rahmani receives death threats again

Punjab’s Shahi Imam Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi has received another death threat. According to reports, during his visit to Bathinda yesterday, he received a call from an unknown number threatening his life. The SHO of Ludhiana Police Station Division No. 2 was immediately informed of the incident.

Ludhiana Jama Masjid President Muhammad Mustaqeem stated that the Shahi Imam of Punjab has been receiving threats for some time. Previously, he was threatened through a letter. Furthermore, threatening messages against him have been circulating on social media.

Complaints sent to DGP and Police Commissioner

According to Muhammad Mustaqeem, several written complaints and emails have been sent to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav and the Ludhiana Police Commissioner regarding the ongoing threats to the Shahi Imam. He demanded that the relevant authorities take the matter seriously and identify those issuing the threats and take appropriate action against them.

Mustaqim stated that he is not intimidated by such threats, but the activities of mischievous elements and conspirators cannot be ignored. He stressed that it is essential to expose those issuing the threats and punish them according to the law.

Expressed concern about the Shahi Imam’s security

The Jama Masjid president stated that the Jama Masjid Ludhiana team, in collaboration with the district administration, is closely monitoring the matter. He clarified that any negligence regarding the Shahi Imam’s security will not be tolerated.

Appeal to the authorities for a fair investigation

Muhammad Mustaqim stated that Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi is one of the leading Muslim scholars not only in Punjab but across the country. His programs, held in various states, are attended by a large number of Muslims and non-Muslims every month.

He expressed concern that it would be unfair to dismiss the ongoing threats as merely the actions of a few mischievous elements active on social media. He appealed to the relevant authorities to investigate the matter seriously, identify those making the threats, and ensure the safety of the Shahi Imam.
