Qaumi Insaaf Morcha halts trains in Fatehgarh Sahib; stages sit-in on Ambala-Ludhiana rail track; demands release of Bandi Sikhs

The Qaumi Insaaf Morcha launched a ‘Rail Roko’ (rail blockade) protest today at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, demanding the release of imprisoned Sikhs. Representatives and supporters from various organizations gathered at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib from the morning to participate in the demonstration. Subsequently, they staged a sit-in protest by blocking the Ambala-Ludhiana railway track.

The protest is scheduled to continue from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Participants set out from the Gurdwara complex in a march that proceeded to Madhopur Chowk, where they blocked the railway track and disrupted rail traffic.

Administration and Police Deployed in View of the Protest

Authorities have tightened security arrangements in light of the agitation. A heavy police force has been deployed along the tracks and in surrounding areas to maintain law and order, and officials are continuously monitoring the situation.

This ‘Rail Roko’ protest is likely to impact railway services. Meanwhile, a large number of supporters continue to arrive at the site.
