Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha Inaugurates 8 Sports Courts, Built Using MPLADS Funds in Mohali

Mohali: Rajya Sabha member and Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha inaugurated six badminton courts and two volleyball courts in Mohali, boosting sports facilities. On the occasion, he said that investing in sports is actually investing in the future of the youth.

Sharing the information on social media platform ‘X’ (earlier Twitter), Chadha said that these sports courts were built with his MP Local Area Development Fund (MPLADS). These courts were developed in Phase 11, Sector 79, Sector 74 (Industrial Area), village Dhurauli and village Mote Majra of Mohali.

He said that developing sports infrastructure for the youth in both urban and rural areas lays the foundation for a healthy lifestyle, positive habits and a bright future. Providing safe and quality sports facilities for the youth so that they can play, thrive and fulfil their dreams is the best use of public funds.

Raghav Chadha stressed that such initiatives will not only encourage the youth to pursue sports but also help keep them away from social evils like drug abuse. Local residents and youth have welcomed the initiative, calling it a positive step for the region.

Raghav Chadha said “These courts are not just structures made of concrete — they are safe spaces where our youth can play, grow, compete and dream. Public funds must be used to build opportunities, confidence and healthier futures for the next generation,” he said.

Local residents, sportspersons and youth groups welcomed the initiative, noting that the new facilities would significantly improve access to organized sports and encourage greater participation at the community level.

Shri Chadha reiterated that expanding community-level sports infrastructure would remain a priority, as part of his broader vision to empower youth and promote holistic development in Punjab. He assured the residents of more such facilities using his own MPLAD funds.
