New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha has drawn attention to the harsh realities faced by delivery workers after spending a day as a delivery partner to understand the impact of the “10-minute delivery” promise.

In a video shared online, Chadha is seen sitting behind a delivery rider and observing the daily challenges faced by gig workers. He noted how riders are often forced to cross roads from the wrong side and take dangerous shortcuts in order to meet tight deadlines imposed by delivery apps.

“I lived a day as a delivery partner and saw firsthand the pressure, risks and challenges created by the ‘10-minute delivery’ promise,” Chadha said.

Riders Under Pressure, Struggle With Fuel Costs

Chadha also highlighted the financial burden on delivery workers, pointing out that many do not receive adequate compensation for petrol expenses from the companies they work for. According to him, despite rising fuel prices, riders are expected to complete multiple deliveries quickly while bearing much of the operational cost themselves.

At the end of the video, Chadha said his aim was to bring attention to the human side of the gig economy.
“I want to show what is invisible — real people, real conversations and real challenges,” he said, stressing that behind every fast delivery is a worker navigating unsafe roads, financial stress and constant pressure.

The Rajya Sabha MP added that while quick deliveries offer convenience to consumers, worker safety, fair pay and dignity must not be sacrificed. His remarks have renewed debate over labour rights and regulations for app-based delivery platforms.
