Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha has said that public issues should be raised in Parliament, and public representatives are accountable to the public.

Citizens’ concerns raised in the winter session

In a post shared on social media, Raghav Chadha said that he raised several important issues related to common citizens during the winter session of Parliament. These included issues like respect and fair wages for gig workers, arbitrary copyright strikes harming digital creators and alleged exploitation at toll plazas.

Environment and health issues

Chadha expressed concern over the rapidly declining groundwater level in the country and also raised the issue of health insurance companies rejecting genuine claims in Parliament.

Emphasis on economic reforms and investment

The MP also raised questions about the reduction in capital gains tax, better incentives for domestic investors, the tokenisation bill and the incomplete rationalisation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Raghav Chadha said, “Parliament is run with your money. We are answerable to you.” He also said that Parliament is the most important platform for citizens to represent or raise their voice.
