Chhatron Ki Goonj: Rahul Gandhi Says ‘All Doors of Employment Are Closed in India’ in Prayagraj

Prayagraj: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday addressed the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ student outreach programme in Prayagraj, focusing on unemployment, examination paper leaks, recruitment delays and concerns facing India’s youth.

The event is part of the Congress’ nationwide student outreach campaign, which aims to highlight issues related to education and employment and seek greater accountability from the government. The campaign had earlier been held in Rajasthan’s Kota and Dehradun.

Rahul Gandhi Targets Government Over Jobs

Addressing students in Prayagraj, Gandhi said that the country’s youth are facing serious challenges in finding employment and accused the government of closing opportunities for young people.

He said the youth should not remain silent on issues concerning their future and asserted that young people have the strength to bring about change.

Gandhi has been using the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign to raise concerns over unemployment, recruitment delays and the examination system. Ahead of the Prayagraj programme, he had also focused on the alleged job crisis and paper leaks affecting students.

Paper Leaks, Recruitment Delays in Focus

The Congress leader also raised the issue of examination paper leaks and recruitment delays, arguing that such problems are affecting millions of students preparing for competitive examinations.

The Prayagraj event was organised as the latest leg of the student outreach campaign, with the Congress seeking to bring student concerns over education, jobs and examinations into the political spotlight.

Gandhi has previously claimed that around 7.5 crore young students have been affected by paper leaks over the past decade and alleged that there have been 152 paper leaks during this period. These are political allegations made by Gandhi and remain disputed claims.

‘No One Is Bigger Than the Youth of the Country’

Gandhi also emphasised the importance of India’s youth, saying that no individual or political leader is bigger than the country’s young people.

The Congress leader’s outreach programme is aimed at connecting directly with students and highlighting their concerns over jobs, examinations, coaching costs and access to education.

The Prayagraj programme comes amid continued student protests in different parts of the country over examination-related issues and recruitment processes. The Congress has said the initiative will include public outreach, protests and discussions with students, including through its student and youth wings.
