Amritsar: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi gifted a bicycle to 8-year-old Amritpal Singh, a resident of Amritsar. During his visit to Punjab on September 15th, Rahul Gandhi visited the flood-affected village of Ghonewal in Amritsar.

Amritpal, tearfully, told Rahul Gandhi that his bicycle had been damaged in the floods. Rahul Gandhi calmed the child and picked him up. He also saw the child’s broken bicycle at home.

On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi sent a new bicycle to Amritpal through Congress leaders and also spoke to Amritpal and his family via video call.

On the video call, Rahul Gandhi asked Amritpal, “Is the bicycle nice, son?” The father thanked him. Rahul Gandhi then said, “Welcome.” Rahul then told the child not to worry. “Lots of love, son.” The child also thanked Rahul Gandhi.

Amritpal’s father said, “The flood caused cracks in the house.”

After the video call, Amritpal’s father, Ravidas Singh, said, “We thank Rahul Gandhi. When Rahul came here, the child was crying. He hugged him. He sent a bicycle for the child the very next day. I work as a laborer.

My son is a second-grade student in the village government school. The flood caused cracks in my house. A wall also collapsed.”

Meanwhile, Punjab Congress shared the video on its X handle and wrote, “This is the shop of love. Where a heart-to-heart relationship is formed between the leader and the public. This is the identity of Rahul Gandhi.”
