New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, referring to the rush of passengers on trains during the festive season, said that the failed double-engine government’s claims are proving hollow. He wrote on X, “Trains are 200% overloaded, with people hanging onto doors and roofs. Where are the 12,000 special trains?”
Rahul Gandhi, referring to the difficulties faced by people traveling to Bihar for the Chhath festival, said that trains to Bihar are packed, tickets are impossible to get, and travel has become inhuman. Why does the situation worsen every year?
“Why are the people of Bihar forced to return home every year in such deplorable conditions? If jobs were available within the state, they wouldn’t have to travel thousands of kilometers. These are not just helpless travelers; they are living proof of the NDA’s deceitful policies and intentions.”
The Railway Ministry had previously released a list of over 12,000 special trains running across the country from October 1 to November 30. A total of 11,865 trips (916 trains) have been notified so far, including 9,338 reserved and 2,203 unreserved trips.
Lalu Prasad said – NDA government is anti-Bihar
Meanwhile, former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the “uncrowned king of lies” and “chieftain of jumlas” had boasted that 12,000 of the country’s 13,198 trains would run for Bihar for the Chhath festival. This too turned out to be a blatant lie.
“These people can’t even run trains properly for the Chhath festival, a major festival of public faith, for Biharis who have been suffering the pain of migration during the 20 years of NDA government. My fellow Biharis are forced to travel in trains in inhumane conditions. How shameful is that?”
Lalu Prasad wrote, “Due to the wrong policies of the double-engine government, more than 40 million people from Bihar migrate to other states for work every year. Since the UPA government, the NDA government has not established any major industries in Bihar. These people are anti-Bihar.”
Recently, BJP President J P Nadda had also said in a public rally in Bihar that the Railway Ministry has increased the number of special trains to 12,000 this time in view of the rush of passengers during the Chhath festival.
In fact, due to the Chhath festival and the assembly elections, a large number of people working outside are returning to Bihar. Chhath festival will be celebrated from October 25th to 28th. Elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will also be held in two phases on November 6th and 11th.
