Rahul Gandhi Says Opposition Not Interested in ‘Amit Shah’s Fantasy Conversations’, Lists Three Demands

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the Opposition was not interested in what he called “Amit Shah’s fantasy conversations” and reiterated three demands that he said must be addressed to break the ongoing deadlock in Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi Lists Three Key Demands

Rahul Gandhi said the first demand was that Union Home Minister Amit Shah should clarify who authorised the alleged use of force against students during protests in Delhi. He questioned whether Shah had ordered the action or was unaware of it.

“The question was always that Amit Shah has to make it clear who authorised the shooting of our youngsters in Delhi,” Gandhi said, alleging that pellet guns were fired and students were beaten with lathis.

Gandhi said that if Shah had authorised the action, he should be held responsible, while if he was unaware of it, it would raise questions about his competence.

Demand for PM Modi’s Apology

Gandhi said the Opposition’s second demand was an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the incidents involving protesting students.

The third issue raised by Gandhi concerned alleged theft of donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He demanded accountability over the matter and alleged that people close to the Prime Minister were involved.

Government Says Ready for Discussion

Gandhi said these three issues were at the centre of the Opposition’s demands and rejected the idea that Amit Shah should simply make a general statement in Parliament.

“We are interested in whether he authorised or didn’t authorise the shooting of our children,” Gandhi said, adding that only after Shah made his position clear could further discussion take place.

He also alleged that neither the Prime Minister nor the Home Minister had come to Parliament for the past 15 days to take responsibility for the issues raised by the Opposition.

Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the government was ready for a detailed discussion on the students’ movement and related activities. He urged the Opposition to allow the Home Minister to make his statement and participate in the discussion without disrupting parliamentary proceedings.

The exchange comes as tensions between the government and Opposition continue to disrupt Parliament, with both sides holding firm to their positions on the issues under discussion.
