Railways to run special parcel train from Kashmir to Delhi

New Delhi: Indian Railways on Thursday introduced JPP-RCS train services to connect small farmers of Kashmir valley so that they can transport their perishable products on Budgam-Adarsh ​​Nagar-Budgam (BDGM-ANDI-BDGM) route on a daily basis.

According to the information, this service will start from Adarsh ​​Nagar, Delhi on September 13 at 12.10 and from Budgam on September 15 at 06.15. Now, through this train, farmers of Jammu will be able to connect directly with Delhi. While coming from Budgam, this train will reach Ambala Cantt Junction at 2 am. Here also, fruits and other goods brought from Kashmir will be unloaded from this train. Ambala will be able to get fresh fruits on time.

Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said that with the launch of this train, now all the fruits and vegetables will be able to reach the consumers easily and on time.

JPP-RCS train services Budgam Adarsh ​​Nagar-Budgam (BDGM-ANDI-BDGM) train service will run with 8 VPS + 1 SLR and intermediate loading and unloading facility will be available at Bari Brahman (BBMN). This service has been introduced for registered JPP-RCS aggregators.

Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said that those who are interested in this can easily register themselves by logging on to the online portal www.fois.indianrail.gov.in. For any other information, the Commerce Department can also be contacted.

Himanshu further informed that notification has been issued for a parcel train with 8 coaches. This train will leave Budgam at 6:15 am and reach Adarsh ​​Nagar in Delhi at 5:30 am the next day, so that apples can reach the market early in the morning.

Indian Railways has confirmed its readiness to provide additional parcel vans and increase the size of trains if the demand increases. Railway officials, including Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Northern Railway and Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, are in constant touch with state authorities, Horticulture Department and various fruit growers associations and traders to ensure smooth operations.
