Rain Alert in 18 Haryana Districts Today; Lightning Risk, 40 km/h Winds, Narnaul Hottest City

There is good news for people in Haryana who are enduring extreme heat and heatwaves. A fresh Western Disturbance has become active in the state. Due to its effect, a significant change in weather will be seen today in 18 districts of the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Bhiwani, Faridabad, Palwal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rewari, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Mahendragarh, Rohtak, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Ambala, Panchkula, Kurukshetra, and Karnal. In addition, there is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

Due to this weather change, the maximum temperature during the day may drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, providing relief from the heatwave. A day prior, Narnaul recorded the highest temperature in the state at 44.2 degrees Celsius.

On April 28, rainfall activity will increase further. Rain is expected in Sirsa and surrounding areas. On April 29, dust storms and light drizzle may continue in the districts of South Haryana (Gurugram, Faridabad, Mewat). On April 30, the weather will start to clear up, although some areas will still have clouds.

Maximum temperature: Mercury rose 3.6°C above normal: The Sun’s intensity remains strong in Haryana. On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded 3.6°C higher than normal. In Narnaul, the mercury reached up to 44.2 degrees, one of the highest levels of the season. However, there was a slight drop of 3°C in the average temperature compared to Saturday.

Meteorologists say that due to the rain and strong winds starting from Monday, there will be a significant drop in daytime temperatures. In the next 48 hours, in many cities, the mercury is expected to fall below 40 degrees.

Minimum temperature is continuously rising: Not only the days but also the nights are now becoming hot in the state. The state’s average minimum temperature is running 2.5°C above normal. In Faridabad (30.7°C), the situation is like a ‘warm night’, where the nighttime temperature is considerably higher than normal. In the past 24 hours, the night temperature has increased by 0.6°C.

Due to the lack of cold winds and the movement of clouds, the nighttime humidity has increased. However, after the dust storm and possible rain starting from the evening of April 27, the nighttime temperature may decrease by up to 2 degrees.
