Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Family Receive Death Threats

Chandigarh: An FIR has been filed in Tarn Taran against Pakistan-based gangster and terrorist Harvinder Rinda and two others following death threats to Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and senior leader Rajbir Singh Bhullar. Police sources confirm the investigation is underway, though no official statement has yet been issued.

Threats Received via WhatsApp Call and Voice Message

According to the complaint lodged by Rajbir Bhullar, he received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number on October 31. The caller issued direct threats to kill both Raja Warring and Bhullar. Later, a voice message reiterated the threat, stating that Warring and his family would be eliminated.

The threats are believed to be connected to Warring’s recent comments during the Tarn Taran by-election campaign, where he questioned the influence of gangsters and external threats in Punjab politics.

Congress Leaders Seek Security

Following the threat, Rajbir Bhullar approached the Tarn Taran SSP seeking protection for himself and Raja Warring’s family. The Congress leadership has condemned the incident and demanded swift police action.
