Jaipur: The BJP will continue deliberations on ticket distribution for Rajasthan’s upcoming civic body elections at the party headquarters in Jaipur on Sunday, with consultations for the Jaipur division scheduled to take place today.

The Jaipur division discussions were originally planned for Saturday but could not be held as consultations for other divisions took longer than expected.

Dispute Over Tickets Surfaces in Jaipur

Even before the formal consultation on Jaipur division tickets began, differences have emerged over the allocation of tickets for municipal corporation wards falling under the Civil Lines and Malviya Nagar Assembly constituencies.

The party will also hold further discussions for civic bodies in the other six divisions, where consensus on ticket distribution could not be reached due to internal differences.

The BJP is expected to finalise its candidates after taking feedback from local leaders and party workers as the process moves forward.

CM Bhajanlal Sharma to Flag Off Campaign Rath

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will flag off the BJP’s election campaign chariots from the party’s state headquarters at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The campaign raths are expected to be used to intensify the party’s outreach ahead of the civic body elections.

Aspirants from several wards, fearing that they could be denied tickets even before the Congress formally releases its candidate list, visited the residence of Congress District President Prakash Gangawat on Sunday morning.

The aspirants reportedly warned that they would oppose the decision if the party awards a ticket to an outsider instead of a local candidate.

The developments highlight the growing competition within both major political parties as preparations intensify for the civic body elections in Rajasthan.
