Rajasthan Dense Fog: Ambulance-School Bus Collision in Sikar, AQI in Red Zone

Sikar: Dense fog has badly affected normal life in Rajasthan. More than 10 districts across the state remained shrouded in fog on Tuesday morning. Visibility was recorded less than 30 meters in districts bordering Pakistan.

Tragic accident in Sikar

Due to dense fog on Tuesday morning, a school bus and an ambulance collided head-on in Fatehpur area of ​​Sikar district. The accident took place between Thedi and Sanjhsar villages around 8:30 am.

Ambulance driver dies on the spot

Ambulance driver Ramu Mali (25), a resident of Wamanpura, Karsai (Karauli), died on the spot in the accident. The fog was very dense at the time of the accident, due to which the visibility on the road became almost zero.

Visibility very low in border districts

Visibility in Bikaner city was recorded below 30 metres, while in Jaisalmer it was around 20 metres. Despite this, tourists were seen enjoying winter in Jaisalmer.

Air pollution in Bewari and Jaisalmer in red zone

The air in Bewari has been toxic since November. At 5 am on Tuesday, the AQI was recorded here at 356, which falls in the very hazardous category. Jaisalmer’s AQI also reached around 350.

Delhi-like conditions, difficulty in breathing

According to the Pollution Control Board, this level is comparable to the highly polluted areas of Delhi. Jaipur, Bikaner, Kota, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh also recorded AQI above 200, due to which breathing is becoming difficult.

Daytime temperatures also fell

During the last 24 hours, dense fog was observed in Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Bundi and Kota.

Fog increased cold

The maximum temperature in many cities fell due to fog. On Monday, Karauli was the coldest district, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 19.8 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological Department warning

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog along with cold wave in the coming days and has appealed to people to be alert.
