Bomb Threat to Rajasthan High Court’s Jaipur Bench; No Explosives Found

The Jaipur bench of the Rajasthan High Court received a bomb threat email on 19 February 2026, prompting a swift security response and temporary disruption of proceedings. The email claimed that explosives (RDX) had been planted and warned the court to clear the premises before a specified time.

     Security Sweep Finds Nothing Suspicious

Following the threat message, police, bomb disposal squads and dog units conducted thorough searches of the High Court premises. Security forces evacuated parts of the complex as a precaution and examined all key areas. However, no explosive device or suspicious object was found, and normal court work resumed after the all-clear.

Authorities registered an investigation against unidentified individuals to trace the origin of the threatening email and identify those responsible.

Threat Comes Ahead of CJI Visit

The bomb threat coincided with the scheduled visit of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant to Jaipur for the inauguration of a cyber security seminar on 20 February 2026. Police said they were on high alert due to the timing and the importance of the event.

Officials noted that similar bomb threats have earlier targeted the High Court and educational institutions in Jaipur, but past investigations revealed them to be hoaxes or false alarms.

     Ongoing Probe into Cyber Threats

Cybercrime teams and law enforcement are analyzing the threat email’s digital footprint as part of the investigation. Officials said tracing such emails can be challenging because senders often mask their locations using VPNs and other methods, but they continue efforts to identify and prosecute those responsible.
