18 govt PTIs dismissed in Rajasthan over degree mismatch

Eighteen physical trainers (PTIs) working in government schools of Banswara district have been dismissed. This action was taken due to a degree mismatch. District Education Officer Jaydeep Purohit has issued orders in this regard.

The degrees shown by these teachers at the time of application did not match the documents submitted later. The matter is related to the Grade Third PTI Recruitment-2022. The directorate had sent a list of a total of 35 PTIs in the state. Out of these, 19 were from Banswara. The case of 1 PTI has been sent to the Joint Director in Udaipur for detailed investigation. All these teachers were posted in October 2023.

Jaydeep Purohit said that the Employee Selection Board had also given these candidates a chance to present their case. During the board hearing, as they did not provide a satisfactory response or present the correct documents, the board deemed them ineligible and directed the Education Director to take action against them.

Teachers were working in different schools of the district

​Purohit stated that the dismissed teachers were posted in different schools of the district. Among these, they were mainly posted in schools in the Sajjangarh, Gangadtalai, Bagidora, Anandpuri areas.

​After receiving orders from the directorate on Friday (17 April), all relevant schools’ principals were called within 2 days, and orders for the dismissal of these teachers were handed over.

Action was taken in the matter based on the instructions of the Employee Selection Board. The directorate had provided a list, on the basis of which action was taken.

Investigation committee was formed as per High Court’s instructions

Purohit stated that in the initial investigation itself, a degree mismatch was found among these candidates, but these candidates went to the High Court against the decision of the directorate.

A three-member committee was formed as per the court’s instructions. This committee conducted an investigation, which also found a degree mismatch among these candidates. After this, orders for the dismissal of all of them were issued.

The recruitment was announced in the year 2022.

It is to be informed that in the year 2022, recruitment for 5546 posts in PTI was announced. The degrees and other documents of the successful candidates were verified, in which many documents were found to be fake or mismatched. After this, SOG filed cases of fraud and forgery against more than 165 candidates after investigation. Earlier, more than 134 teachers had already been dismissed in this matter.
