Rajasthan Teacher Suspended After Allegedly Strip-Searching Female Students Over Missing ₹500

Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan: The Rajasthan Education Department has suspended a senior female teacher in Sawai Madhopur district after allegations that she forced female students to undergo a strip search while looking for a missing ₹500.

The accused teacher, identified as Saraswati Meena, a Senior Teacher (Hindi) at the Government Senior Secondary School in Liwali village, Bamanwas, was suspended with immediate effect following a preliminary report submitted by the District Education Officer.

Teacher Allegedly Suspected Students Over Missing Money

According to officials, the incident took place after the teacher found that ₹500 was missing from her belongings inside the classroom.

After an initial search failed to locate the money, the teacher allegedly suspected that students had taken the cash. Acting on the suspicion, she, along with an associate, reportedly locked female students of Classes 9 and 11 inside a room.

Officials said the students were allegedly subjected to a search under the pretext of recovering the missing amount, during which they were reportedly forced to remove their clothes.

Parents Protest After Alleged Incident Comes to Light

After information about the incident spread, several parents reached the school premises and protested, leading to a commotion at the school.

Following the situation, senior administrative and education officials rushed to the spot and took note of the matter.

Teacher Suspended Under Rajasthan Service Rules

The suspension order issued by the Office of the Joint Director of School Education, Bharatpur Division, stated that action was taken under Rule 13 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958, following serious complaints against Saraswati Meena.

The order stated that the action was based on the report submitted by the District Education Officer (Secondary), Sawai Madhopur, on July 15, 2026.

During the suspension period, the teacher’s headquarters will remain at the Block Education Office in Rajakhera, Dholpur, and she will receive a subsistence allowance as per the applicable rules.

Departmental Inquiry Initiated

The Rajasthan Education Department has also started a formal departmental inquiry into the matter to examine the allegations and determine further action.

Authorities are continuing the investigation, and more details are awaited.
