Rajasthan: Clear weather, heat begins to rise; temp to cross 40 degrees within two weeks

Jaipur: Following the cessation of the spell of storms and rainfall in Rajasthan, a continuous rise in temperatures is now being observed. On Thursday, the mercury climbed in several cities, including Jaipur, Alwar, Udaipur, Barmer, Pilani, and Kota, due to intense sunshine.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, the heat is expected to intensify further over the next two weeks, with temperatures in some cities potentially reaching 40 degrees Celsius or higher. However, partial cloud cover may prevail over certain parts of the Bikaner division on April 10 and 11.

Over the past 24 hours, the weather remained clear and sunny across most parts of the state. During this period, the highest temperature, 37.5 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Barmer. Nevertheless, temperatures in several cities still remain below normal levels, offering some relief from the heat. In Jaipur, the maximum temperature recorded was 30.8 degrees Celsius, which is 5.5 degrees lower than the seasonal average.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain dry and clear across most parts of the state for the coming week. While a weak Western Disturbance may cause light cloud cover in limited areas, no widespread changes in weather patterns are anticipated. Temperatures are likely to rise further by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over the coming days.
