Raman Arora appears in court for extortion case; Next hearing on November 1

Jalandhar: Raman Arora, MLA from Central constituency, appeared in court on Friday in connection with the extortion case registered at the Rama Mandi police station. The court has scheduled the next hearing for November 1st. The corruption case will be heard on October 8th. He has already been granted bail in both cases and is out of jail.

According to sources, after his release from jail, Arora visited Salasar to visit Balaji. Although he has maintained a distance from the media and the public so far and has not made any public statements regarding either matter, there is talk in political circles that he may soon be given a significant responsibility within the party organization.

It is noteworthy that on August 23, a case of extortion was registered at the Rama Mandi police station based on a complaint by Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Lumma Pind. The complainant alleged that in 2022, the MLA called him to his office and demanded monthly payments. Previously, the Vigilance Department had also arrested Arora in a corruption case. However, he has been granted bail in that case as well.
