Jalandhar: The pretext of marriage a 16-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped in Jalandhar . Case has been registered under POCSO Act (The Protection of Child from Sexual Offenses Act), BNS 137 (2), 87, 64 (1) and 351 (2) against Gary, son of Balwinder Singh, originally a resident of Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, in Rama Mandi police station. Gary was booked based on the statements of the victim girl.
The accused Garry used to live on rent near Bapu Lal Badshah Dargah, Nakodar in Jalandhar. The police of Rama Mandi police station has arrested the said accused. He will soon be produced in the court and taken on remand.
The mother of the victim girl said that her daughter is 16 years old. When the accused Gary came in touch with her, the conversation between the two started. The accused kidnapped the minor girl by luring her with the promise of marriage.
After the kidnapping, the accused had made physical relations with the girl without her consent and threatened that if she tells this to anyone, he will kill her. When the victim’s family came to know about this, a complaint was immediately lodged with the Commissionerate of Police Jalandhar.
The victim was very upset after the incident, when the family pressurized her, she told them about the entire incident. The police got the girl medically examined at Jalandhar Civil Hospital and registered a case immediately after recording her statement.
