A minor girl raped on pretext of marriage in Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. Police has registered a rape case against Manav Bhagat son of Mangal Das resident of Basti Sheikh in Police Station Division Number 5 on the statement of sixteen years old minor girl.
Police also impose POCSO Act with the sections of rape case and arrest the accused. Police officials said that the accused Manav Bhagat will be produce before the court today and take him on remand for questioning.
father of the victim child said hat his daughter started talking to Manav Bhagat. Both became good friends of each other and the matter reached the relationship. Both used to meet often.
On April 23rd, the accused Manav called the girl to meet him at his residence. After which the accused raped the girl. The accused committed this crime by luring the girl with the promise of marriage. After which the accused refused to marry her. He also threatened the girl that if she tells this to anyone, he will harm her.
The victim girl went to her home after the incident and immediately informed her family about the incident. The family complained to the police in the matter and demanded action. The police got the girl medically examined at the Civil Hospital in Jalandhar and a case was registered immediately after recording the statement.
