New Delhi: Rapper Badshah on Tuesday apologised before the National Commission for Women (NCW) for the allegedly vulgar lyrics of his song ‘Tateeree’. He submitted a written apology and promised to make a song promoting women empowerment within four months, along with sponsoring the education of 50 girls.

The NCW took cognisance of the objectionable lyrics and public outrage. Several FIRs were filed in Haryana, leading to the song being taken down. Badshah faced backlash for both the suggestive visuals and lyrics of the track.
