‘Ration Theft After Vote Theft’: AAP slams centre over cutting 55 lakh ration cards in Punjab

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party has released a new poster targeting the Modi government at the Centre. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that the Central Government has stopped the supply of free ration to 55 lakh families of Punjab, which has been done in the name of a forced KYC process.

Chief Minister Mann said that the Central Government wants people to link their ration cards with voter cards. This is a ploy to collect people’s data, which is being done before the elections. He asked whether it is written in any law that it is necessary to link ration cards with voter cards?

“BJP is doing politics for votes through ration”

Bhagwant Mann said that the Punjab Government is providing ration to 1.53 crore people through its scheme, and this service will continue. But the Centre has stopped its share of the ration.

He said,

“BJP is using food as a weapon to gather voter data,” he added. “Instead of providing jobs, education, and healthcare, they are trying to manipulate systems to win votes.”

Arvind Kejriwal’s support

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also supported Bhagwant Mann and said that the central government is punishing Punjabis because they elected AAM Admi Party.

Concluding his message, CM Mann assured the people of Punjab:

“Don’t worry, we are with you. No one can snatch your rights. We will raise this issue strongly with the Central Government and take legal action if necessary.”
