CM Rekha Gupta Urges Women to Lead at Delhi Convention

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta urged women across the country to move forward confidently and make their mark in every sphere of life while addressing a national convention of women thought leaders in the national capital.

Speaking at the two-day convention titled “Bharati – Nari to Narayani” held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, the Chief Minister highlighted the growing contribution of women in shaping India’s social, economic, and political landscape. She encouraged women to step into leadership roles and pursue opportunities across all fields.

The convention brought together women leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and social workers from across the country to discuss empowerment, leadership, and the role of women in nation-building.

‘Women must move forward and make their mark’

Addressing the gathering, CM Gupta said the progress of society depends heavily on women’s empowerment and participation in decision-making. She emphasized that women today are increasingly setting their own goals and creating new opportunities for themselves.

Gupta encouraged women to remain confident and determined in achieving their ambitions. According to her, the convention served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of women and inspire others to pursue leadership roles in various sectors.

She highlighted that International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to recognize the contributions of women and reflect on the progress made in ensuring equal opportunities. At the same time, she noted that there is still work to be done to ensure women have equal access to opportunities and leadership positions.

Recognising everyday sacrifices of women

During her address, the Chief Minister also spoke about the everyday sacrifices made by women in their personal and professional lives. She acknowledged the role of mothers and caregivers who often priorities the needs of their families over their own aspirations.

Gupta said that society must recognize these contributions and create an environment where women can pursue their dreams without facing barriers. She added that supporting women’s education, professional growth, and leadership is essential for building a stronger nation.

The Chief Minister stressed that empowering women is not just about welfare schemes but also about enabling them to lead, innovate, and contribute to national development.

Convention focuses on women-led development

The national convention aimed to promote dialogue on women-led development and highlight success stories of women leaders from different sectors. Experts and participants discussed ways to strengthen women’s participation in governance, business, technology, and social initiatives.

The theme “Nari to Narayani” symbolizes the transformation of women from traditional roles to positions of leadership and influence in modern society. The event focused on creating networks among women leaders and encouraging young women to take part in policymaking and entrepreneurship.
