Relief to Kejriwal’s wife, Delhi HC stays summons issued in 2 voter cards case

New Delhi: In a major relief to Arvind Kejriwal wife, Sunita Kejriwal, the Delhi High Court has stayed the summons issued by the trial court. The summons was issued on complaint of BJP leader Harish Khurana. She was accused of possessing two voter ID cards. The case was registered for alleged violation of the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 by getting herself enrolled on voter lists for two different constituencies.

Justice Amit Bansal passed the order and said that the stay on the trial court order will remain in force till February 1, 2024. Earlier, BJP leader Harish Khurana filed the complaint that Sunita Kejriwal has been registered as a voter from two different constituencies, i.e., from  Sahibabad (Ghaziabad constituency) and Chandni Chowk in Delhi.
