Remarkable Feat: PM Modi applauds Gujarat as it sets Guinness World Record for Surya Namaskar

New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi applauded Gujarat as the state today set a world record for performing Surya Namaskar. Today as the nation celebrates the first day of the year 2024, Gujarat set a world record for the most people performing Surya Namaskar at 108 venues.

PM Modi in a post on X said, “Gujarat welcomed 2024 with a remarkable feat – setting a Guinness World Record for the most people performing Surya Namaskar simultaneously at 108 venues! As we all know, the number 108 holds a special significance in our culture. The venues also include the iconic Modhera Sun Temple, where several people joined.”

PM Modi further mentioned that the practice is rue testament to our commitment to Yoga and our cultural heritage. He also urged people to make Surya Namaskar a part of daily routine as its benefits are immense. 

Today, large number of people performed Surya namaskar at nearly 108 places in Gujarat setting a new Guinness world record. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi participate in the Suryanamaskar Program at Modhera Sun Temple, on the first morning of the year 2024.

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi said that more than 4000 people took part in this initiative making it a big success.
