Republic Day 2026: Himachal Pradesh tableau showcases culture on Delhi’s Kartavya Path

For the Republic Day parade, the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, selected tableaux from 17 states of the country, including Himachal Pradesh. On Monday, the Himachal Pradesh tableau showcased that Himachal Pradesh is not only the land of gods and goddesses but also a land of fearless patriotism, paying tribute to its brave sons and daughters. It was based on the idea that this state, revered as ‘Devbhoomi’ or the land of gods, is equally ‘Veerbhoomi’, the land of the brave.

Gallantry Awards to 1203 people

The state has given the country 1,203 gallantry award winners, including four Param Vir Chakras, two Ashok Chakras, and 10 Maha Vir Chakras, an exceptional record of valor in India’s military history.

The Republic Day tableau paid homage to the state’s indomitable spirit. It also honored the sons and daughters of Himachal, who, inspired by the resilience of the mountains, have answered the nation’s call with courage and sacrifice.

As one of India’s largest contributors to the armed forces, Himachal’s legacy is not just confined to the past but is deeply ingrained in the character of its people, as depicted in the tableau. It aimed to blend sanctity and valor, showcasing the state’s cultural richness alongside its glorious military tradition.

It served as a powerful reminder that Himachal Pradesh is a land of divine blessings and fearless patriotism, a true ‘Veerbhoomi’ nestled amidst ‘Devbhoomi’.
