Retired SE Found Murdered in Haryana Home; Lived Alone, Maid Raised Alarm

A retired Superintending Engineer (SE) associated with the Himachal Power Corporation was found murdered at his residence in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district, triggering shock among local residents and former colleagues. The victim, identified as Jagdish Bansal, was living alone in his house when the incident occurred.

The crime came to light on Thursday morning when the domestic help arrived at the residence for routine household work. On entering the house, she allegedly found Bansal lying in a pool of blood. Startled by the scene, she raised an alarm, prompting neighbours to rush to the spot and inform the police.

Police Launch Investigation

A police team reached the residence soon after receiving information and secured the area for investigation. Preliminary examination suggested that Bansal had been attacked inside the house. Officials collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause and timing of death.

Investigators are examining all possible angles, including personal enmity, robbery and other motives. Police officials said that evidence gathered from the house and surrounding area is being analysed, while CCTV footage from nearby locations is also under scrutiny.

Victim Had Retired from Power Corporation

Jagdish Bansal had served as a Superintending Engineer with the Himachal Power Corporation and was known among residents as a quiet and respected individual. Following his retirement, he had been residing alone at his house in the Jathlana area of Yamunanagar district.

Neighbours described him as a disciplined person who largely kept to himself. The brutal nature of the crime has left the local community stunned, with many demanding swift action against those responsible.

Family Members Informed

Police informed Bansal’s relatives about the incident after recovering the body. Family members reached the residence and cooperated with investigators. Statements of relatives, neighbours and other persons connected to the victim are being recorded as part of the probe.

Officials are also trying to establish whether any valuables are missing from the house and if there were signs of forced entry. The findings are expected to play a key role in determining the motive behind the murder.
