Rewa Accident: Speeding Audi Kills 3 During Wedding Invite Run

A tragic road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district claimed the lives of three members of a family when a speeding Audi car rammed into their motorcycle. The victims were distributing wedding invitation cards an occasion meant for celebration when the fatal crash occurred.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns over speeding and reckless driving on highways in the state.

How the Accident Happened

The accident took place on Saturday evening near Kosta village, along the Rewa–Prayagraj highway, under the jurisdiction of Raipur Karchuliyan police station. According to police officials, the Audi was travelling at a very high speed when it hit the motorcycle from behind, leaving the riders with no chance to escape.

The impact was so powerful that the motorcycle was completely damaged, and the victims were thrown onto the road.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as:

• Bhagwat Vishwakarma

• Shivam Vishwakarma, his son

• Sheetal Vishwakarma, a female relative

All three were riding on the same motorcycle and were heading to distribute wedding invitation cards for a family wedding scheduled later this month.

Declared Dead on the Spot

Local residents rushed to the scene after hearing the crash and alerted the police. Emergency services also arrived, but all three victims were declared dead on the spot due to severe injuries.

Their bodies were later sent to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Rewa, for post-mortem examination.

Audi Driver Detained, Vehicle Seized

Police confirmed that the Audi driver was detained at the scene, and the luxury car has been seized for investigation. A case has been registered under relevant sections related to rash and negligent driving.

Authorities are examining whether excessive speed or loss of control led to the collision. Further legal action will follow based on investigation findings.

Family and Locals Demand Justice

The incident has left the family shattered, with wedding celebrations abruptly turning into mourning. Angry locals and relatives have demanded strict punishment for the accused driver and tighter enforcement of traffic rules.

Residents say speeding has become common on this stretch of the highway, posing a constant danger to two-wheeler riders.
