Rewari Driver Held Hostage, Assaulted by Transporter

In Dharuheda, Rewari, the driver has alleged that the transporter kept him tied up in a room and beat him. The driver broke the door of the room at night and escaped. The driver from Uttar Pradesh had joined a new company just 20 days ago. The injured driver has been admitted to a trauma center for treatment. After receiving the information, Dharuheda police have recorded a statement and started an investigation.

Changed the vehicle when denied

Pankaj, a 36-year-old resident of Yakutganj, Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, said that he has been working as a driver in Manesar and Dharuheda for many years. 20 days ago, he joined a new transport company. He used to travel on the Khushkheda to Gurugram route. Recently, he was coming with the vehicle.

On the way, following the transporter’s instructions, his vehicle was stopped midway, and an attempt was made to tamper with his belongings. He refused this. After that, the transporter assigned him to another vehicle.

Called from Kharkhoda by phone

Pankaj alleged that on Friday he went to Maruti in Kharkhoda with his vehicle. The transport clerk called him and asked him to meet the transporter. When he went to the transporter, they asked him to drive the previous vehicle again.

He refused to drive it. In response, they talked about making him leave the job. The transporter told him to leave the vehicle at the company and come for settlement. When he left the vehicle at the company and reached the gate to hand over the keys, the transporter arrived there with one of his associates.

Beaten with a rod, held hostage

The driver alleged that the transporter along with his accomplice beat him up with rods and sticks near the gate. After this, he put it in the car and rode it for half an hour and then came to the company and locked it in the room and beat it again. At night, he somehow managed to break the door of the room and escape from there. He called his acquaintances and informed them about the incident. After which he was admitted to the hospital.

Action will be taken after investigation

Dharuhera police station SHO Kashmir Singh said that the police have recorded the statement of the victim driver after getting information. He said that the driver was beaten. The police are investigating the matter. After investigation, action will be taken against the accused as per rules.
