Villagers Block Kotkasim Road in Rewari Over Water and Electricity Issues

Rewari: Residents of Garhi Bolni village in Rewari district blocked the Rewari–Kotkasim road on Monday morning, protesting against persistent issues of water shortage, irregular electricity supply, and heavy vehicle movement through the area.

According to villagers, the problems have been ongoing for a considerable period, with repeated complaints made to authorities but no lasting solution provided. They alleged that unannounced power cuts and inadequate water supply have become a regular issue, especially during the summer season, severely affecting daily life.

Allegations of Neglect and Administrative Inaction

Protesters claimed that despite raising concerns multiple times, no effective action has been taken. Some villagers alleged that local administrative and political factors have contributed to delayed responses, leaving residents to struggle with basic civic services.

They further stated that heavy vehicles passing through the village road have worsened the situation, damaging road conditions and creating safety concerns for residents.

Traffic Disrupted as Road Blocked

To register their protest, villagers placed barricades and blocked movement on the Rewari–Kotkasim road, leading to traffic disruption in the area during the morning hours. Commuters faced inconvenience as vehicles were diverted or halted until authorities were informed.
