Rewari Fire: Blaze Guts Plywood Warehouse, 10 Fire Tenders Douse Flames; Five Workers Escape

Rewari: A massive fire broke out at a plywood warehouse in Gokalgarh, Rewari, early Sunday morning, triggering panic in the area. Five workers sleeping outside the warehouse managed to escape unharmed, preventing a major tragedy. The blaze was brought under control after nearly two-and-a-half hours with the help of 10 fire tenders.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, officials said.

Fire Broke Out Around 6 AM

According to reports, the fire started around 6 am at the warehouse of a plywood showroom, Wood Studio, located near the Gokalgarh village T-point. The flames spread rapidly, engulfing both the warehouse and parts of the showroom, raising fears of the fire spreading to nearby shops.

Police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information. At the time of the incident, five labourers were sleeping outside the warehouse and escaped safely before the fire intensified.

10 Fire Tenders Deployed to Control Blaze

Initially, two fire tenders from Rewari reached the scene. However, due to the intensity of the blaze, additional fire engines were called from Dharuhera and IMT Bawal. In total, 10 fire tenders were deployed, and firefighters managed to bring the fire under control after nearly two-and-a-half hours of continuous efforts.

The rear section of the warehouse was completely gutted, while firefighters were able to save part of the stock stored in the front section. Since several commercial establishments are located nearby, officials worked to prevent the flames from spreading further.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

Assistant Fire Officer Sanjay Dhillon said the fire department received the alert around 6 am and immediately launched a firefighting operation. He confirmed that the situation is now fully under control.

Meanwhile, BJP District President Vandana Popli and former District Chief Satish Yadav visited the site, interacted with the affected trader, nearby shopkeepers and officials, and reviewed the situation.

Fire officials said the exact cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation is underway.
