Rising Cases of Pakistan Spying on India

New reports are emerging that Pakistan has increased the recruitment of spies in India, from the border areas of Punjab to Delhi, to strengthen its intelligence network. Reports indicate that Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, is collaborating with the pro-Khalistan terrorist organization, Babbar Khalsa International, to establish a spy network in the border areas of Punjab.

Traces of this spy network have been found even in Delhi. Recruited spies are prepared for espionage by paying them substantial sums of money and drugs. More than 12 suspects spying for Pakistan are on the radar of Indian investigative agencies. Several teams of the Delhi Police’s Special Cell are active in Punjab to apprehend them. These teams are also taking the help of the
Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

The suspected espionage suspects are active in the Tarn Taran, Fazilka, Bathinda, and Ferozepur districts of Punjab, bordering Pakistan. Reports indicate that Pakistan is training these suspects in espionage and in installing solar cameras that can be operated from Pakistan. Six people, including a woman, were arrested in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, on charges of spying for Pakistan.

When they were interrogated, 15 more people were arrested. The Delhi Police Special Cell also arrested 11 people, of whom 9 were from Punjab. 9 solar CCTV cameras were also recovered. SIM cards were inserted into these cameras and live feeds were being sent to Pakistan. These cameras were found installed in sensitive areas of cities like Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Patiala, Moga, Ambala, Kathua, Bikaner, and Alwar. It is astonishing that in India, full of nationalist sentiments, such youth are spread across Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi who are selling their souls and spying for our enemy country, Pakistan.

The arrests and seizures of such individuals demonstrate that there are still some ungrateful individuals willing to commit such treasonous acts for a pittance or drugs. Terrorist gangs have been dismantled and their nexus has been broken, but now, to combat the growing number of spies, police forces will have to break the back of such criminals. One lesson from this is that Indian youth must receive timely, suitable employment so they don’t fall prey to anti-national forces.
