Road accident in Bulandshahr: 9 devotees killed after Container hits tractor-trolley, 42 injured

In Bulandshahr, UP, a container hit a tractor-trolley full of devotees from behind. This caused the tractor-trolley to overturn. 9 devotees, including a mother and son, died in the accident. 42 are injured. The condition of 3 of them is critical.

The deceased include a 6-year-old child, 5 men and 3 women. The accident took place near Ghatal village in Arnia area on National Highway 34 at 2 am on Sunday night. The devotees were going from Kasganj to Gogamedi in Rajasthan to visit Jaharbir (Gogaji).

The police say that the devotees had made the trolley a double-decker. The trolley was divided into two parts by placing wood in the middle, so that more and more people could sit. The Chief Minister directed that financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.

As soon as the information about the accident was received, DM Shruti and SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh reached the spot. SSP said- 10 injured have been admitted to Bulandshahr District Hospital and 23 to Khurja Hospital.

10 injured have been referred to Aligarh Medical College. The driver of the container fled. The container was filled with paddy husk. The traffic has been resumed after removing the tractor from the highway.

All the deceased are from Kasganj

The deceased have been identified as Kasganj resident Ipu Babu (40) Rambeti (65), Chandni (12), Dhaniram (40), Mokshi (40), Shivansh (6), Yogesh (50), Lekhraj (40) and Vinod (45). Injured Rajkumar said- The tractor was moving very slowly. We were sleeping.

All the children were also asleep, then suddenly the container was hit from behind. No one understood what happened so quickly. The children were screaming in pain. Some people died on the spot. There was no turn where the accident happened.

Arjun, son of the deceased Dhaniram, said that we are four sisters and two brothers. One sister is married. The rest are not married yet. Our father used to work as a labourer. There is a mother at home. The house was run on the mercy of the father. He died in the accident.
