Road Accident in Jalandhar: Speeding Car Driven by Intoxicated Youths collides with Tractor

A late-night road accident occurred at Kapurthala Chowk in Jalandhar, involving a violent collision between a speeding Swift car and a tractor-trolley. The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled and left in ruins.

According to eyewitnesses, the youths traveling in the car were allegedly under the influence of alcohol and fled the scene immediately after the accident. Fortunately, no lives were lost in this incident; however, the severity of the crash can be gauged by the condition of the car.

Local eyewitnesses, including Karnail Singh and Baghel Singh, stated that the tractor-trolley was making a turn in its proper lane when a Swift car, approaching from behind at an extremely high speed, slammed into it with great force. Following the collision, the car spun around on the road and crashed into the rear section of the tractor.

Eyewitnesses claim that there were three to four youths inside the car, all of whom appeared to be in a heavily intoxicated state. Immediately after the accident, they abandoned their wrecked vehicle at the scene and fled.

People who gathered at the site following the accident expressed apprehension that the car’s registration number or its documents might be suspicious. Locals noted that the manner in which the youths fled the vehicle suggested they were attempting to evade police action or avoid getting entangled in legal trouble. Those present at the scene also alleged that the youths’ gait and behavior clearly indicated that they were heavily intoxicated. Currently, the car remains stranded in the middle of the road, causing disruptions to traffic flow.

Baghel Singh, who was present at the accident site, pointed out that this area is highly prone to accidents. Vehicles frequently speed through this stretch, resulting in accidents on an almost daily basis. He has urged the district administration and the police department to take strict measures to enforce speed limits on this road and to ensure that the wrecked vehicle is removed from the road as soon as possible to restore smooth traffic movement.
