Rohtak: Mentally-ill woman jumps to death, no note recovered

A 27-year-old woman from Jhajjar committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a PG in Dev Colony, Rohtak city, at 3 a.m. on Monday. She was reported to be mentally disturbed. Police have kept the body in the PGI mortuary. They are awaiting the arrival of her family members.

According to police, Nisha, a resident of Nimli village in Charkhi-Dadri district, lived in a PG in Dev Colony. Two days ago, her aunt, Asha, a resident of Jhajjar, had joined the PG. It is reported that Asha seemed very distressed. At 3 a.m. on Monday, she jumped from the fifth floor of the PG.

The woman suffered a severe head injury upon falling onto the road and died. PGI Station House Officer Roshan Lal stated that the deceased’s family members have been informed and are awaiting their arrival. Further action will be taken based on their statements. An investigation is underway to determine why the woman was upset and whether she was under any pressure. No suicide note has been recovered from the scene.
