Rohtak: One crore cash found in car; all detained

During an investigation, Rohtak police recovered ₹1 crore from a car with a Delhi registration number in Rohtak on Tuesday afternoon. Four young men were travelling in the car from Jhajjar. Police have detained all four. During interrogation, the accused men were unable to provide any information about the cash.

The police team, led by Inspector Rakesh Saini, in charge of Shivaji Colony police station, was checking vehicles at a blockade under the Jalebi Chowk bridge. Meanwhile, a car coming from Jhajjar was stopped for inspection. Four young men were in the car: Amit, a resident of Janta Colony in Rohtak, Pramod, Sumit, and Ravi, both residents of Delhi.

Two young men sitting in the back seat of the car were found carrying a backpack containing bundles of ₹500 and ₹100-200 notes. Upon inspection, the total amount was found to be ₹1 crore.

Cash handed over to the Income Tax Department

On court orders, Rs. 1 crore has been deposited in the Rohtak Treasury. The Income Tax Department has also been informed. The police are investigating the matter. A police spokesperson stated that the cash has been handed over to the Income Tax Department.

The department will conduct its own investigation and take action in this matter.
