Bihar: A fire broke out in the Sasaram Patna passenger train at around 6 AM on Monday at Sasaram Junction in Bihar’s Rohtas district, creating panic among passengers and railway staff. Initial reports indicate that the blaze may have been triggered by a suspected short circuit in one of the train coaches.

Smoke Seen Rising From Coach at Platform

According to railway officials, the incident occurred while the passenger train was stationed at platform number six of Sasaram Junction. Thick black smoke and flames were seen coming out of one of the coaches, prompting an immediate emergency response at the station.

Passengers nearby quickly moved away from the area as railway staff alerted fire and rescue teams. Videos from the station showing smoke engulfing the coach also surfaced on social media shortly after the incident.

Railway Staff Detected Burning Coach

Railway authorities and local emergency teams rushed to the spot and managed to control the fire before it spread to other coaches. Officials reportedly detached the affected coach from the rest of the train as a precautionary measure during the rescue operation.

The timely action helped prevent a major accident at the busy railway station. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far, according to preliminary information.
