New Delhi: A major accident occurred in Rourkela, Odisha, on Saturday. A nine-seater aircraft, VT-102, crashed near Jalda A Block in the Raghunathpali area.
There were a total of six people on board the aircraft at the time of the accident, including four passengers and two crew members. Fortunately, the aircraft did not catch fire after the crash, and there were no fatalities.
However, everyone on board sustained injuries in the crash and has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
In a post on X, Majhi wrote, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the plane crash that occurred in Rourkela. The news that all passengers are safe by the grace of Lord Jagannath is reassuring.”
He further said that he has directed the best immediate medical services to the injured, adding about his personal surveillance of the situation.
“I have directed that the immediate best medical services be provided to those injured in this incident. I am personally monitoring the situation. I am praying at the feet of Lord Sri Jagannath for the swift recovery of all,” the CM wrote.
How did this serious accident happen?
According to sources, the aircraft was en route from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar and crashed approximately 10 kilometers after takeoff. The aircraft was completely destroyed in the accident.
The local administration and police have reached the spot. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
Preliminary information suggests that a technical malfunction in the aircraft may have caused the crash. A crowd of people gathered at the scene after the accident.
