RTO services in Punjab to become 100% faceless from today; CM Bhagwant Mann to launch from Ludhiana

Starting today, all RTO services in Punjab will be shifted to service centers. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will inaugurate 100% faceless RTO services in Ludhiana today. Starting today, all 56 services related to driving licenses, registration records, and vehicles will be available through service centers or online portals.

According to reports, Aam Aadmi Party convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also be accompanying Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to this event. Punjab has 544 service centers that provide all Transport Department-related services. Individuals who wish to avail themselves of these services online can apply from the comfort of their own homes.

Also, if someone wishes to have a service center representative call their home to get the work done, they can do so. Until now, 38 RTO services were being provided through service centers.

Decision taken after complaints of corruption

Complaints of corruption in Punjab’s regional transport offices were being received by the department and vigilance. Due to this, the government has decided to make the Transport Department’s work 100% faceless. Now, RTO office employees will have no interaction with the public. Officials have made it clear that public visits to RTO offices will be reduced to zero.

RTO employees will be punished if there is any delay.

After making RTO office services faceless, employees will be required to work on time. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will speak to the media after the inauguration and provide detailed information. However, Transport Department officials have already stated that if employees fail to work on time, action will be taken against them.

Every Seva Kendra will handle Transport Department work.

There are three types of Seva Kendras in Punjab. Type One is a large Seva Kendra, one in each district. All these Seva Kendras are located on the campuses of District Magistrate offices. These Seva Kendras will have dedicated counters for Transport Department work. There are 228 Type Two Seva Kendras, and 294 Type Three Seva Kendras. Each counter in these centers will also handle Transport Department work.
