Patna: A tense situation arose at Patna’s Patliputra Railway Station late Saturday night after stone-pelting and vandalism. A heavy police force was deployed to control the situation. The disturbance affected many passengers, including students going to take exams.

Late Night Chaos at Station
According to Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh Thiagarajan, information was received around 12 midnight that some people were creating a ruckus in the station premises. The administration repeatedly appealed to the public to maintain peace and cooperate with students going to take exams.

Protests demanding special trains
According to officials, some anti-social elements repeatedly pulled the train chain and demanded the running of additional special trains. The administration stated that two special trains had already been made available for the convenience of passengers, but the protests continued despite this.

Police took charge, situation normal
When the situation worsened, police used mild force to disperse the crowd and restore train services. The administration stated that the situation is now completely normal and the scheduled trains for students appearing for exams have departed. Railway services are also running smoothly.

Shops damaged in violence
Eyewitness Sanjay Kumar Sharma said that protesters had blocked trains. When the administration tried to clear the road, the situation turned violent. He claimed that his shop was pelted with stones and suffered significant damage. According to Sharma, the large number of students were angry due to the lack of trains and the heavy crowds.
