Sachin Pilot to Visit Ludhiana, Meet Family of Slain Kabaddi Player Tejpal Singh

Ludhiana: Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot is scheduled to visit Punjab on Saturday and meet the family of kabaddi player Tejpal Singh, who was shot dead in Jagraon last year. Pilot, who is in charge of the Congress party’s affairs in Punjab, will visit Giddarwindi village near Jagraon to offer his condolences to the family.

He is also expected to pay his respects at Bhaini Sahib during the visit. Former MLA and Jagraon constituency in-charge Jagtar Singh Jagga will accompany him, along with other Congress leaders, including Karanjit Soni Galib, Block President Navdeep Singh Grewal and Mani Garg.

Pilot’s visit comes as the Punjab Congress works on its organisation ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Kabaddi Player Tejpal Singh Was Shot Dead in Jagraon

Tejpal Singh was killed on October 31 last year in Jagraon. According to the details provided, attackers shot him in the chest at around 2:50 pm, about 250 metres from the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

The killing raised concerns about security in the area, particularly because the shooting took place so close to the district’s senior police office. Pilot’s planned visit to the family comes months after the incident.

Beyond the condolence visit, Pilot’s Punjab engagements are being watched in the context of efforts to strengthen the Congress organisation and improve coordination among party leaders.
