Sahni met Kejriwal before exit; denies betrayal

Politics has heated up due to the resignation of 7 Rajya Sabha MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Out of them, 3 have already joined the BJP. In this context, Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahni has said that he did not commit any betrayal against Punjab. Before joining the BJP, he had met AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

He had presented all his points to him. He had also talked about resigning to Kejriwal. He had made up his mind, but the advisers explained that this is not a solution. On the other hand, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said that Raghav Chadha had approached him. He had been invited for tea on April 16, 17, and 18, but our meeting did not happen. He had talked about forming an Azad group, which we directly refused.

Sahni said that I cannot make any comment regarding becoming the CM. But I say that we have not betrayed Punjab in any way. We have not betrayed the Punjabis. That statement of theirs is wrong. We will work for Punjab. We have many projects for our Punjab, ranging from providing employment to more than ten thousand children to several other plans. I went to meet Mr. Kejriwal on Wednesday, Ashok Mittal also met. Harbhajan also met two days ago.

Although we never even joined the party, we will always be indebted to them for giving us the opportunity. There is no grievance with Mr. Mann or Mr. Kejriwal. I have never said anything against them and will never say anything throughout my life. We are indebted for having served Punjab for four years.

I told Mr. Kejriwal the whole matter, and he said to resign. My mind was made up to resign on Wednesday night that it’s okay, resign, we will see. When the matter of resignation came up, the advisors said that if two of you resign, two-thirds will be achieved in four or five. Till now, seven were required.

I raised the issue of Punjab in Parliament

As long as there is a fight between the Center and the State, Punjab will do nothing. There has been no betrayal of Punjab and Punjabis. All of us together. Whatever it is, now we can say anything. We used to do service earlier too, and now time will tell, history will witness how much we will do. We raised the voice of Punjab; we will not stop from that. We will raise our voice more.

Punjab University, Chandigarh, compensation for water, I raised this issue in Parliament for the first time. We will raise the issues of Punjab while maintaining a decorum. We will work within a certain limit. There will be discussion. There are seven of us and other MPs from Punjab like this.

Whatever has happened, we will continue to serve Punjab. We will not remain MPs of Punjab. We are not ready to resign. We are not political persons.
